About the Project
“War” is a storytelling project that explores conflict through a civilian and minority lens. The exhibition shows a unique perspective of the war between Nigeria and the breakaway state of Biafra that is left out of the history books.
Project Elements
The project includes an archival documentary narrated by a wartime survivor, detailing her experiences during the war and how she managed to survive despite living as a child in an active war zone. She tells stories about the living conditions of civilians and violence against women from minority tribes.
The documentary also explores Nigerian history through images of its leaders and significant events that have shaped the country.
